Time.. is timeless

Time moves slowly when you're watching it, anticipating what the future has to unravel, eagerness so vast it could kill the joy of surprises.

Time moves fast when you're not watching, all the while absorbed in the present activity, stopping to check the time would never be an option.

14 weeks and a whole load of cash later, here I am, tucked up in bed, sandwiched between my oversized comforter, lights turned off, typing with the help of the reflection from the laptop monitor screen.

I still remember that day when I bade farewell outside the lift, tears welled up in her eyes and I fought back my own tears, reassuring her (and myself) that I'd be fine and I walked away. That was 14 weeks ago and everything began there and then.

As I think back, flashes of memory dash out from the back of my head and not only do I recall, I can almost relive the moments.

Remember those awkward first moments of asking names and initiating small talk?
Remember those times of scanning for familiar faces and genuine smiles?
Remember those lame jokes cracked over lunch at Nando's that very afternoon?
Remember the random camwhore sessions by the beach?
Remember meeting your PCL group members for the first time and thought you might never get along?
Remember those ordeals before finally settling for a lunch venue?
Remember those rollercoaster rides of emotion when true colours were revealed and all perceptions were challenged of their accuracy?
Remember those crazy ass outfits that got every nosy person at the cafeteria staring?

Do you remember?

Time wears and tears all memories, of little or great significance, good or bad.

What can you do against time? What do you want to do to it?

Hey guys! Seems like everyone has updated their blogs within the past 48 hours (even Nick and Rachel! Surprise surprise!) except for.. well.. me! It's not that I have nothing to blog about. It's just that every single time when I feel like blogging, I get disconnected after signing into Blogger. Pffft.

And yes, I should be studying now but somehow I feel like this is my 'unfinished business' so I should blog first wth.

#1 Klang Bak Kut Teh!!!

Bak Kut Teh. :P

The plan was to have Bak Kut Teh for breakfast and we had to gather in uni around 7/7.15-ish. WHICH IS DAMN KAO EARLY UNTIL DUNNO WHAT ALREADY! DO EARLY BIRDS EVEN WAKE UP SO EARLY??

But according to Grace, it's the right time because there might be very heavy traffic on the way from Klang back to Bandar Sunway and we had class at 10.30 that day. So 7.15 it was!

I think Grace is the only one who can EVER make me have to wake up at 6.30 in the morning to go for breakfast! But of course, that didn't happen because in the end I woke up at almost 7 and had to rush like mad!

Apparently I wasn't the last to arrive and we only left at 7.50-ish. Tsk tsk tsk. Malaysian timing.

Did I mention that there were like THIRTY of us or something?!! I think there were like 6 cars or something going to Klang together! Traffic was light and we managed to arrive in Klang after around 20 minutes or so. And the best part was.. NO ONE GOT LOST! Not even Jun Yet who ALWAYS gets lost! :P Maybe cuz Daniel wasn't in the same car :P.


Chinese Tea. Which was super bitter we had to discard the first batch of tea.

Then finally our Bak Kut Teh came!! Woohoo!! Sorry I don't remember what's the point of them putting their fingers there and apparently it doesn't look cool like that. So double sorry. :(((

To be completely honest, the Bak Kut Teh tasted well, ordinary. Maybe it was just that shop. Oh well, there are like 103283 other shops selling Bak Kut Teh there so I guess we can always go back to Klang for Bak Kut Teh! At night, maybe? :P

#2 Fire Drill

Venue: Back in Monash Uni, at Histopathology Lab, Building 3.

PR: *in a very calm, computerish voice* Attention to all. There has been an emergency. Please evacuate the building immediately.

I swear the announcement was delivered in the calmest possible way! Even the calls for the late plane boarders at the airport give a better sense of emergency! No one gave a hoot about it! In fact, we were still busy preparing for our PCL's and whatnots and only stopped after the announcement was repeated like 5 times or so. And then we continued doing our work.

If it wasn't just a drill but a REAL FIRE, I think we would have died first. Because this is what we did:

Me: *prints out PCL notes and safely removes thumb drive from the comp.*
*closes all documents and logs off from computer*
*slowly walks towards the printer to collect notes*
*meets Joann at the printer*
Me: Hey! There's a fire drill! You should be running out of the building like.. NOW!

Joann: IF I DON'T PRINT OUT MY PCL NOTES I AM GOING TO DIE!!

Unfortunately, the printer wasn't working and we had to head out because the admin people came in to chase us all out.

Yes, on the very same day, we went to watch 27 Dresses!!!

By all means I am not a very big fan of the movie because I am not exactly a fan of chick flicks? I thought there were more 'Misses' than 'Hits' when it came to the funny remarks/attempted jokes in the movie. But apparently all the girls (and NICK!) enjoyed it a lot and Jo fell head over heels for James Marsden after the movie.

If you don't have the habit of looking at post titles, please look at this post's! Although it kind of makes no sense lol.

Hey everyone! I'm back in Miri!!! Just in case you guys didn't know, I'll be back until next Wednesday because it's now the study break which means, my finals will be soon!

Which also means, I FREAKING NEED TO STUDY!! Which I haven't been doing as much as I should.

I blame it on the scriptwriters of Desperate Housewives who are such geniuses and I hate them.

There's so much I need to know and there's only 10 days left! Actually, the clock is still ticking and it's inching closer and closer to... NINE DAYS! Honestly, I have started freaking out. But then again, it's only 5% =.=

Sigh.

All the best to all my friends who are also busy studying (especially those who are sitting for their A2 exams now. Sorry I totally forgot to wish you guys luck earlier)!! Hope everyone'll excel :D

And don't sacrifice too much sleep time because SLEEP IS A BIOLOGICAL NEED!

Good Company's Better Than Chocolate. Good Food's Better than Sex.

My BFF told me to say today was the best day of the entire year!!!! I agree!!

Soooooo.. where shall I start?

Yesterday I was feeling seriously freaking bored and after my not-so-horrible but awfully lonely dinner, I decided to call my BFF out for brunch today! Another meal alone and I'd go crazy! That's how freaking bored I was!

I managed to pull in BFF.O2 who made me feel oh-so-special but I shall refrain myself from being schmaltzy so I shall stop there.

My brain almost cracked trying to set a venue for breakfast. But it all came down to Taipan and Kota KemuNing. The brunch was changed to breakfast and was to be at 10 am. :)

For the first time ever, I woke up early!! By 9.15 I was out of bed. :) Amidst all my sweet dreams (one of them being going to a storewide 70% sales at Topman wth. I was contemplating if I should get those pair of jeans I've been eyeing. See, even in my dreams I don't shop recklessly) I woke up almost every hour to check the time, scared that I'd be late for breakfast, which might lead to me missing my flight.

At 10 am SHARP BFF.O2 came to pick me up and then, we decided to go to Tropical Secrets in Kota KemuNing.

But none of us knew where it was.

What BFF and BFF.O2 did actually know was that there's a McDonald's in Kota KemuNing so if we really couldn't find Tropical Secrets, we could just go to McDonald's (which would have been sad). McDonald's was the last resort so we tried not to circle around that area.

After rounding pretty much 3 quarters of Kota KemuNing, RON THE SAVIOUR called and told us that Tropical Secrets was somewhere opposite McDonald's. =.=

A few turns later we were back there and lo and behold, TROPICAL SECRETS WASN'T OPEN YET!!! I think it was 10.40-ish. It only opens at 11.30.

(Le sigh why am I so long-winded. Sorry my dear readers)

But it was okay. We saw a lot of cafes nearby so we decided to try some random shop but neither of us expected that it would leave such a deep impression in all of us.

I present to you,

The Ranch Cafe, For those with no/damaged taste buds! And oh! On a tight budget :)

We tried the Set Lunch which had 1 FRESH HOMEMADE MUSHROOM SOUP, A MAIN COURSE (FISH AND CHIPS/SPAGHETTI/SOME RICE) AND DESSERT (JELLY).

All for only RM 6!!

Add another RM 1.50 and they'll give you Ice Lemon Tea.

Not bad huh? RM 7.50 for a bowl of soup, main course, dessert and a drink!

Of course there's a catch la.

When BFF took her first sip of her 'Ice Lemon Tea', HER FACE JUST TOTALLY CHANGED. It was PRICELESS! If only I'd snapped a photo of it.

So Nick and I tried as well but it wasn't that bad la. It tasted like the Ice Lemon Tea sweets. And a bit orange-y.

Then came the mushroom soup.

I was the one to try it first. It looked kind of un-appetizing la but it tasted fine. The only weird thing is that it tasted like CHICKEN SOUP!! Hahahaha. The mushroom soup tasted like chicken soup for goodness sake! The three of us just burst out laughing.

Then BFF's Spaghetti Italiano came and LO AND BEHOLD. IT LOOKED FREAKING FUNNY we started cracking up again. They didn't even bother to cut the sausage up so it was like 1 whole sausage on top of tomato sauce resting on top of spaghetti (can be seen in the above photo).

And the sauce wasn't even some self-prepared tomato salsa+other ingredients, it was TOMATO SAUCE (and mixed vege I think). It's like the most basic and unoriginal pasta someone can ever come up with!

Now, let BFF.O2 present.. the world's largest fish and chips!!


TADA!!!

When the waiter put down the plates and left, we burst out into another bout of laughter. Sigh. So much laughing today.

The fish and chips wasn't too bad la actually. Just the size is a bit disappointing. But then again, the whole meal is only RM 7.50 including the drink! We shouldn't expect that much, right?

After being on the verge of crying from laughing, it was time for dessert!

It was almost 11.30 when we finished and so, we went over to Tropical Secrets, hoping for a better meal, although we were already full.

So we just sat down and placed our orders of ONE cheese baked rice and ONE combo thingy to a very surprised waitress. She probably thought we were three anorexic freaks or something.

While waiting for our food, we took photos :D

Cheese Baked Rice. It was nice but I was too full so Nick had to swallow 2/3 of it which I bet wasn't such a big thing for his bottomless stomach anyway.


The combo thing. And I thought it was dessert =.= So much for recommending this when I ordered Mango Pudding! But it tasted pretty decent though. There was Tuna Salad/Pasta, Coleslaw, Banana Fritters which then turned out to be Cheese, glutinous rice with yam and corn and some bubur-cha-cha-ish stuff)

It was definitely a better meal than the previous and it left us all totally bloated!!!

And i mean, BLOATED!!!!!

On the way back my cab driver called. He was 20 minutes early. =.=

I'M SO GLAD WE WENT OUT THIS MORNING!! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!!

I know. Let's go to Malacca for chicken rice balls wth.
